Through our partnership with William James College, full-time employees at JRI can pursue their bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.

 

About the Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Human Services Completion Program at William James College

  • The 60-credit program is for individuals who have earned an associate degree or the equivalent number of undergraduate credits. Haven't yet earned your associate degree? No problem! You can take classes at Mass Bay Community College prior to transferring to William James College.
  • Choose between the work-friendly 3-year part-time program or the full-time 2-year program.
  • The courses are offered through a blended model with a combination of asynchronous and synchronous online courses and collaborative sessions, and one, three-hour, in-person Saturday session per course.
  • Customize your education with one of our minors in Behavioral Health or Addictions Counseling.
  • Personal advising and mentoring from our scholar-practitioner faculty.

How Tuition Reimbursement Works for the Bachelor's Degree Program

William James College provides a $9,000 scholarship to JRI employees. In addition, JRI provides each employee $4,500 per year toward the bachelor’s program at William James College.

There is no wait time to be eligible for tuition reimbursement for the Bachelor's Degree Program at William James College.  As soon as you become employed by JRI, you are eligible for this benefit.

 

About the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at William James College

There are two options:

MA Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program | William James College – On Campus

Work-friendly, 60-credit, three-year program (there are also options for 2 years, and 2.5 years). Students must finish the program in 3 years.

  • Choose from five areas of emphasis: General Counseling, Couples and Family Therapy, Forensic and Correctional Counseling, Health and Behavioral Medicine, and Substance Use & Addiction Counseling.
  • Integration of diversity and inclusion, ethics and research across the curriculum.
  • Fulfillment of all educational requirements for state licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts. Students in the Couples and Family Therapy emphasis are also eligible for state licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling Online | WJC (williamjames.edu)

  • Work-friendly, 60-credit, three-year program (August entry) or two-and-a-half-year program (January entry).
  • This program follows a general practitioner curriculum.
  • Most courses are asynchronous, online. Clinical Seminars are live on Zoom 2 hours every week in the 2nd and 3rd year. Two mandatory residencies in person are required: 2 weeks between year one and two, and 4 days between years two and three. The career counseling course requires an additional weekend live on Zoom.
  • Integration of diversity and inclusion, ethics and research across the curriculum.
  • Fulfillment of all educational requirements for state licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts.

 

How Tuition Reimbursement Works for the Master's Degree Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at William James College

JRI employees are eligible for the William James College Behavioral Health Initiative (BHI) Scholarship, which reduces your tuition per credit from $1305 (for 2024-25) to $1000 per credit. In addition, JRI will also contribute towards tuition and will pay William James College directly.

Rachel has been a part of the JRI team since January, 2000. For over 20 years, Rachel has been working in the field of human services assisting families with accessing and navigating services. Rachel received her Bachelors degree in psychology and Masters Degree in Public Administration from Bridgewater State University. She was promoted in July 2005 to Family Networks Program Director where she closely worked with the Department of Children Families for 10 years ensuring that children and families received the highest quality of individualized services ranging from community based through residential care. Rachel is very dedicated to helping the individuals she works with and is committed to improving the lives of children and families. Rachel’s passion for creative service programming inspires her in her role as JRI Service Navigator.
