The Metropolitan Treatment Center is a secure residential treatment program operated by the Justice Resource Institute under contract with the Department of Youth Services. The program offers treatment to 59 clients who have been committed to secure treatment for a minimum of six months and aging in range form 13-21 years of age. The program is broken down in to four units of 12-16 clients per unit, and clients complete their treatment within these individual treatment milieus.
The Clinical Director will be a person who holds a masters degree or higher and has a current Massachusetts license in psychology, social work, or mental health counseling. The Clinical Director will develop, oversee, and participate in the implementing of a Department of Youth Service approved cognitive behavioral curriculum. Curriculum, group, and individual treatment must be provided in at least the following areas as required by each individual client. Relapse prevention, Anger Management, Pro-Social Skills, Emotional Regulation Skills (using skill training groups in Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Substance Abuse, Gang Group, and Responsible Parenting Programming. The Clinical Director will also oversee the reviewing, approving, and updating the Client Service Delivery Plans and Individual Treatment Plans.
The Clinical Director will oversee the delivery of individual and group therapy for all program clients and family therapy where indicated, as per the Client Service Delivery Plan. This will be accomplished through weekly supervision with each member of the clinical team. This individual will also oversee and participate in a clinical on-call rotation for issues which may arise during off hours and weekends.
In addition to the responsibilities noted above, the Clinical Director will function as a Senior Member of the programs Administrative Team and will participate in policy development, development of staff training curriculum, and other forums to ensure the appropriate culture is developed and maintained to offer our clients the best opportunity for success.
