JRI Health Services

 

Health Law Institute (HLI) HLI's attorneys provide expert advice, consultation and legal representation to PLWHA dealing with issues such as housing eviction or unfair treatment in housing, appealing denial of financial benefits such as Social Security Disability Income, and dealing with consumer issues such as debt consolidation, CORI resolution or resolving credit problems. Services are provided at JRI Health's offices as well as other AIDS service organizations throughout eastern Massachusetts to promote easy access.

Assisted Living Program (ALP) ALP helps PLWHA who are homeless access stable housing. ALP helps individuals obtain a rental subsidy, secure an apartment where the subsidy can be used, and then provide ongoing case management to help people maintain a successful tenancy and good health. ALP works directly with people in Greater Boston and also administers a statewide subsidy program through a network of social service agencies across the state.

Housing Options Program (HOP) HOP provides rental subsidies and case management services for homeless individuals facing a range of health issues and disabilities including mental illness, substance use, brain injury and developmental disabilities.

Huntington at Symphony Located near Boston's Symphony Hall, the program provides studio apartments and on-site support services to 25 PLWHA. River St. Community Located in Mattapan,

River St. Community is located in a building owned by the Boston Housing Authority. Thirteen apartments for PLWHA are available along with on-site case management services.

HIV Medical Case Management Whether or not you live in one of JRI Health's supported housing programs, you can access our HIV case management program. Case managers work with PLWHA who are having difficult accessing services in the community and/or reaching their individual goals. Staff link people with appropriate resources, advocate for needed care, work to eliminate barriers to resources such as housing, health care, mental health treatment, food, shelter or educational opportunities.

Prevention and Access to Care and Treatment (PACT) Formerly a program of the Brigham and Women's Hospital and Partners in Health, the PACT Project provides intense, community-based care to PLWHA who are having challenges navigating their healthcare and treatment. PACT's Community Health Workers assist clients in coordinating and getting to medical appointments, managing medications and adherence and provide education regarding healthcare and health-related issues. PACT also provides training regarding this innovative model of care and provides technical assistance to other organizations interested in developing a community health worker program.

Peer Support Sometimes dealing with issues like HIV/AIDS can be isolating and you want to talk to someone who has been there. At JRI Health, PLWHA provide individual and group support to other PLWHA. A range of support groups are available as well as social events and individualized support based on client need.

Boston Gay & Lesbian Adolescent Social Services (GLASS) GLASS is a safe, supportive environment in which GLBTQ youth and young people can come together to talk, get support, access critical services, get information about relevant health issues and more.

Program RISE Located in Framingham, RISE offers HIV case management, peer support, HIV/STI screening to people living with and at risk for HIV.
