Expanding Capacity from Within

In 2009 Realize Resources began serving Ethiopian organizations that are dedicated to serving the country’s most vulnerable populations. An early primary focus has been on building management and organizational leadership skills to expand their capacity for efficient and effective outreach. Since then we have been building these relationships and pursuing new opportunities to be of service to the people of Ethiopia.

Leadership and Management Training

Realize Resources developed and implemented an intensive 4-day training geared toward developing Ethiopian leaders in the public health field. Participants in this training included AMREF senior and mid-level management, Geneval Global delegates, and Ethiopia Ministry of Health officials. The training included topics ranging from coaching for performance, supervisory skills and meeting facilitation.

Systems Strengthening Delegation Visits

Over the course of five visits to our Boston headquarters in 2010, five members of the executive team at AMREF-Ethiopia attended Realize Resources trainings specific to their areas of expertise  and participated in a series of consultative meetings.  Participants included AMREF-Ethiopia’s Country Director, Deputy Director General, Human Resources Director, Programme Development Coordinator, and Director of Administration. Further delegation visits are scheduled for 2011.

Research Logistics International (RLI) Collaboration

Realize Resources and the Addis Ababa-based RLI entered into a partnership in June 2010. A current initiative is a collaboration on the development of an Executive Leadership training geared toward executive directors of NGOs from across the continent. Implementation of the training is slated for 2011.
