Who We Are
At the Meadowridge Academy, exceptional education and specialized trauma informed treatment services go hand in hand. As part of the fully accredited Meadowridge family of schools, Meadowridge provides individualized treatment services to young adults between the ages of 12 and 22. Many of our students come to us because they are struggling in traditional school settings due to issues such as past trauma, depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. Our supportive program allows students to continue their education in a safe, secure and supportive environment in which they can learn and grow.
Meadowridge is located on six acres of landscaped grounds, teeming with sports and recreational opportunities for the students. An Olympic-sized pool, volleyball, softball, soccer, and football fields; a swingset and basketball, tennis, and bocce courts are on the grounds, alongside a small stable of farm animals, gurgling koi pond, and a large vegetable garden. The quiet activities of planting, feeding the fish, or walking the trails balance with the excitement of team sports and mountain biking across the fields. The array of outdoor opportunities brings the therapeutic and academic experience at Meadowridge to life as students try new activities, learn new skills, and achieve emotional balance.
The Meadowridge Academy uses state of the art trauma specific models of treatment including the unique ARC treatment methodology, and works to ensure this treatment model is pervasive throughout all aspects of programming. Developed through the cutting edge work of Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and his colleagues at the Trauma Center at JRI these intensive, individualized treatment interventions feature an array of services designed with a single goal in mind: to prepare our students for a strong, healthy future.
The Meadowridge Academy accepts private referrals as well as school system and state social service, youth service, mental health agency placements and educational agency referrals. Contact us for additional information.
