Glenhaven Academy was established in 2001 and services adolescent girls ages 12 – 22 years old who are experiencing emotional, behavioral and / or educational difficulties with a specialization in the treatment of trauma. All our students live on campus and attend school at Glenhaven Academy. Students may be referred from Massachusetts Child Welfare Agencies, privately by families or from out of state. The length of stay is individualized and is dependent on progress towards treatment goals, however, lengths of stay are generally at least 6 months in duration for students to fully benefit from our treatment model. In addition to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, some of the treatmnet issues addressed at Glenhaven Academy are anxiety disorders, attachment disorders, attention deficit disorders, behavior disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, eating disorders, fire setting, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder and sexually reactive disorders.
Glenhaven Academy offers students and families state-of-the-art treatment as well as strong academic programming and is a leader in residentially based trauma treatment services through it’s partnership with the world renowned Trauma Center in Boston, MA.
Glenhaven Academy is licensed through the Department of Early Education and Care and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Approved Private Schools.
