Cresson Treatment Program is an educational treatment center for adolescents who have failed to progress in less intensive programs. Cresson offers four 13-bed residential areas with shared school and treatment facilities. Each residential "community" provides sleeping, recreation, and dining areas for the residents. Cresson uses a cognitive behavioral treatment approach. Two of the four communities provide more intensive psychological services and an especially supportive environment in order to serve boys who are emotionally disturbed. Although the requirements are demanding, staff guidance and support of social learning are emphasized, and ratios of staff to residents allow effective intervention.
