Concord Family and Youth Services

Serving Middlesex Communities since 1814

Concord Family and Youth Services (CFYS) makes a difference in the lives of young people and their families. Headquartered in Acton, Massachusetts, with community-based program sites in surrounding towns, CFYS carries on the tradition of community service begun in 1814 by the Concord Female Charitable Society.

The women of Concord pooled their resources and their energy for the good of Concord Families. Simply put, they helped people by providing them with support and resources. And, that's what we do today. CFYS is a private nonprofit organization providing residential treatment, special education, prevention programs, adoption services and homeless and transitional living programs for teens.

CFYS works collaboratively with schools, youth serving agencies and community programs throughout Middlesex County, including the city of Lowell. Through strategic collaborations with the community we provide prevention and community based programs in direct response to identified problems and offer services for dealing with youth and family issues.

On July 1, 2002 CFYS merged with Justice Resource Institute, Inc. (JRI). JRI is a private, nonprofit organization formed through the initiative of the leading citizens of Massachusetts. JRI's mission is to provide hope and opportunity to children and adults whose physical, emotional or learning related disability requires innovative and specialized support and treatment. We believe that this partnership will provide a strong foundation from which CFYS can continue it's rich tradition of service.
