Metropolitan Treatment Center is an Office of Child Care Services licensed treatment facility for boys. Metropolitan Treatment Center offers a full school for 79 boys with academic credit and GED and SAT preparation; a sophisticated treatment program including group, individual, and family counseling; and a structured residential service that helps boys to develop socially positive and responsible behaviors. A behavior management system supports and encourages behavioral change. Specialized treatment targets specific behaviors that are undesirable and helps the youth to alter his pattern of behavior. Outreach to the family and community resources increases the effectiveness of Metropolitan Treatment Center's work. Metropolitan Treatment Center continues to provide effective education and treatment for adolescents who are troubled and in need of treatment and education in a specialized school.

In 1999, the Metropolitan program, at 58 beds, combined JRI's Boston Treatment and JRI Treatment programs at one site and added 16 desks and beds. This co-location of resources enables a richer blend of therapeutic and educational opportunities. The program employs DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Treatment) and the Prepare Curriculum, which provides distinct modules in anger management, reasoning, and a range of skills essential to pro-social behavioral and psycho-social adjustment.

The program includes a range of "communities" specialized for varying levels. A vital part of the regional network of care, Metropolitan Treatment Center serves as an important resource.
